Engineering Services for Storage Tanks

After twenty years of experience in tank structural design, detailing, inspection, evaluation, and coatings for steel storage tanks, Leslie D. Scott, P.E., founded Innovum, a specialty engineering consulting firm, in 1998 to provide engineering services related to the design, construction, evaluation, repair, upgrade, or rehabilitation of liquid storage tanks. In early 2001, he joined Chicago Bridge & Iron’s engineering staff where he managed the engineering and estimating activities of CBI’s San Luis Obispo facility. He continued to provide specialty services under through Innovum for about a decade until his employment duties consumed all of his available time. In 2011, Leslie joined Paso Robles Tank in a management and specialty engineering position after CBI closed the SLO facility. He remained with PRT until May of 2018 when he left to take the position of Chief Engineer with Tank Industry Consultants (TIC), a renowned leader in storage tank consulting throughout the United States. Now, with more than 41 years of experience in the storage tank industry, his expertise and knowledge of tank design, repair, fabrication and construction methods, coatings, and asset management is now available through Tank Industry Consultants.

TIC provides a variety of specialty consulting services to assist tank owners with analysis, design, new tank construction and coating specifications, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, demolition, retrofitting, or upgrade of their storage tanks. In addition, TIC performs condition assessment evaluations and construction or rehabilitation observation on hundreds of tanks each year.
